You know what gets under my buckskin! First Nations hating on ally ship.
I do accept ally ship from anyone with a good heart, from any race, any gender, any sexuality, any religion, and so on.
I do not want to put my First Nations "journey" inside a room that no one that doesn't look like me can get into.
I don't want to build a room of intellect that no one understands. I don't want to be inside a room that wont allow any light inside.
I see First Nations hating on the likes of celebrity or even First Nations movements and I get it. But this is not what our culture and traditions teach us.
I don't fear being overshadowed by someone else in my journey of decolonization because I am strong in my own light.
I do not resent the white man so much that it blinds me from seeing good in him. As much as others deem certain races "the enemy", our ancestors shared with them and helped them too...that is our way.
Freeing ourselves does not mean enslaving others. I am grateful for anyone waking up and taking a stand. I am happy that a voice is being heard on subjects I care about because I know it not just about me.
The messages and the journeys we are all on do not belong to us. They belong to the Creator and only the Creator can judge them.
So please lets not lock each other in rooms anymore and just smash through these walls. Thanks for trying to piece together what I've said.
